I appreciate you sharing your experience. You bring up an important point I hadn't considered, fearing for your safety, as a reason why someone stays, but strays.

As I mention, my feelings around trust come from close family members breaking it, not romantic partners. But also how I'd feel if my husband cheated.

Trust is foundational, for me. But everyone has his/her own reasons for feeling betrayed, or betraying.
